I knew, I KNEW somebody was going to take issue with Adam’s line about Africans selling other Africans as slaves. Seriously, does nobody understand that villains say shitty things? They are the bad guys. It’s like Loki’s “mewling quim” line.
Oh, I definitely flinched when I heard that bs, but it fits for his character. The same way it fits for Loki to say some sexist bs, because that is who he is. He isn’t a nice guy. He doesn’t want to cuddle. And he certainly doesn’t want to kiss anyone. He wants to kill and conquer, just like Adam. So, I try to acknowledge a character’s bad behavior as either something that’s in-character for them or just the screenwriters’/directors’/etc personal opinion peeking through. I suppose that it depends on how it’s done?
And again, you do realize that the script that Seth wrote was probably altered along the way, right? I’m really getting tired of reading that over and over in the fandom tags. It’s kinda annoying, but not really something I can do anything about. >.>
